Interested in more New Years Info? Here are some tid bits:
- Lunar New Year is THE biggest holiday in China, where nearly all of the country closes for business and people make long treks home to be with family!
- All house cleaning is supposed to be done before New Years day to make room for good fortune. Cleaning immediately after can sweep away all your good luck, though.
- Whole cooked fish, noodles, and oranges are New Years feast staples; they symbolize: bountiful harvest, longevity, and prosperity respectively.
- This upcoming year will be the year of the monkey. There are a total of 12 animals in the Chinese Zodiac folktale.
